Wk of 10/11: Lake Country Next

Game Notes:
This week's game will be played at Hartland Arrowhead's High School Football Field on Saturday, October 16 at 12 PM. Again, please arrive no later than 10:45 am for our "Chalk Talk" and warm-ups. Wear your white (away) jersey. It is always a great experience playing on Hartland's Field Turf.

West Bend East - A game of missed opportunities:
We certainly missed many opportunities by a number of penalties at inopportune times. One TD was call back because of a penalty and several long gainers. We were inside the 10 yard line on three occasions, but failed to score a touchdown. That being said, overall the kids are certainly executing well on offense and defense and are making some great decisions on the field. Mistakes can be a great thing if they learn from them. I know the kids are excited about our next game.

Wk of 10/4: We are making progress

This week's game notes:
This is just a reminder that, even though we are designated as the "away" team this week, we actually play West Bend East at "home" behind Hartford Union High School this Saturday, October 9th. Please arrive at the game no later than 10:45 am for our "Chalk Talk" and warm-ups. Since we are considered the visitors, please wear your white (away) jersey, black pants and black socks.

Summary of the season thus for:
The team has progressed nicely through the first half of the season. They seem to be playing with confidence and are eager to continually improve, which is one of our themes for the season. They have grasped what we are teaching both on offense and defense and understand our schemes. They continually play with good effort and play well as a team. They encourage one another and want everyone to have a degree of success. The remainder of the season should present many challenges, which they seem to embrace and look forward too.

Oshkosh West Game Notes:
This was a very close and exciting game at the end. The kids played very hard and displayed great character and heart, which was evident when they made two tremendous goal line stands at the end of each half. Hopefully they can carry that momentum into the Slinger game this weekend.

9/13: The First Game is Behind Us

Our first game against Tosa West was a great learning experience for our kids. Overall, for a first game, the kids executed our offense and defense to expectations. We made a number of mistakes, especially on special teams, but nothing that can't be corrected. On defense, they were swarming to the ball and on offense they all played extremely hard. The running backs ran with authority and the line played with a lot of aggression. Our next opponent, West Bend West, will be a great test for our young team.

This is just a reminder that our next game against West Bend West is at home at the Hartford Town Hall on Saturday, September 18 at 12 PM. Please have the kids there no later than 10:45 am for warm ups. Also, make sure to have them wear their black jerseys, black pants and black socks for the game. See you on Saturday!

Scrimmage Notes: The scrimmages were a tremendous experience for our players and you could certainly see the progress from the first scrimmage in Germantown to the second one in Grafton. The players are clearly grasping what we are teaching both on offense and defense. It important to continue our progress because certainly Tosa West will be a great test for us to start the season.
